Cynthia Scott's To REALLY Dye for Duster!

An incredible rendition of #1002 To Dye For Duster

C. Scott Duster

Cindy was asked to come up with a pattern and construct a coat by Ann Johnston (quilt artist, fabric dyer, and author) using her hand-dyed cotton velveteen. After collaborating with Ann (and her friend who was the recipient of the coat), they decided that Ann would do some single-layer quilting in rayon thread on the front and back coat panels and collar for additional visual interest.

Cindy decided to replace the side cargo pockets with angled welt pockets, and added a second set of loop closures at the top of the lapel, so the coat can be buttoned two ways. Button "cufflinks" were made so another set of buttons could be used for a different look.
