This was my first full test sample (one made to actually function but without the appliqué detail).

In this Kanji Coat, I used a checked cotton denim for the body. This 3/4 length style is great for a "car coat" as my mom used to call this length. Denim is one of my favorite fabrics. Sturdy and easy to care for. I made mine unlined, with red plaid flannel for the seam detail, binding and also the facings. The flannel is the coziest thing right next to your neck!
