Primrose Kanji

 

 

In this Kanji Coat, uses Primrose Gradations hand-dyed cottons called "Twilight" in shades of blues. The Kanji characters were done with a Freezer Paper Stencil in Blue Mist Textile Paint and the Noshi was appliquéd with an 8-step coordinating gradation of fabrics. Binding and Seam detail with the same coordinates. It was lined with Navy anti-static lining which was stamped with matching Sm. Kanji designs.

To make the strip pieced seam detail, I cut my fabrics in gradated widths too! Notice that they go from 1/4", 1/2", 3/4" and 1" and then repeat. Don't forget to add seam allowance!
