Alex's New Shades |
|
After
seeing pictures of my son Kanaan's bedroom shades, my nephews
said they'd like some too! This year's Christmas presents were
Roman Shades for their rooms.

I made Alex's shade from an 18" Batik Panel and pieced with Batik Cottons. I used Warm Window insulated shade fabric for the backing. Since these are traveling to Virginia where they live, I had to take the pictures with the shades just draped over a door. |

Detail of the shades. I used a small border of Midnight Dots and coordinating Clouds Mottled Blue/Purple and Mountains in Blue/Purple as the remainder. I then stenciled seaweed with Turtles and Grass and stamped Bubbles. Roman Shades will retain their pleats after just a little "training". The warm window fabric is quilted in rows so it great for this style of shade!
