Jesse's New Shades |

After
seeing pictures of my son Kanaan's bedroom shades, my nephews
said they'd like some too! This year's Christmas presents were
Roman Shades for their rooms.

| Jesse's room is on the corner of the house and he has two windows. For his shades I used two Cat 18" Batik Panels that just happened to face in opposite directions. I added borders with Black Cotton, Kaleidoscope Dots in Fuchsia and Orange/Purple Mottled Batik Cotton. I used Warm Window insulated shade fabric for the backing. Since these are traveling to Virginia where they live, I had to take the pictures with the shades just draped over a door. | |

Detail of the shades. I stamped Cat Paws and Fishbones using Opaque White Paint so it would show up on the black cotton. I added just a touch of Ultramarine Blue to the Opaque White for the cat paws. Roman Shades will retain their pleats after just a little "training". The warm window fabric is quilted in rows so it great for this style of shade!
