MEMORY QUILT

Using old family photos I scanned them to my computer and printed them on to heat transfer paper. These were heat transferred to muslin which were then appliqued to a muslin base. Free form quilting to mimic the cut edges of the photos (I used a rotary blade with a 'victorian' edge). Bound with a fern print cotton (a year round Pacific NW plant) it's a wonderful keepsake!

I made three of these, one each for myself and my brother and sister for Christmas gifts. Some of the photos had the dates written on the backs, so I used Photoshop to drop in dates in an 'old typewriter' font.
