STREAKS I began by hanging my cotton fabric on the clothesline. Don't do this on a windy day, you need the fabric to hang still. 1) At the top of the fabric (where it's pinned to the clothesline) dribble a thick line of liquid gel. Make sure you have enough so it will run down the fabric. 2) You can stop here to have a "border print" or continue in this manner to have a "stripe" effect.
SQUIGGLES 1) Lay fabric flat on the ground. Doodle with the liquid gel. It's thick enough that you can get some great "characters" without distortion. (keep lines fairly well spaced for best effect)
STENCILING 1) Using contact paper, cut out simple shapes. Hearts, stars, hands, etc. Use the contact paper like a "stencil" by sticking it to your fabric. Apply liquid gel to the inside of the stencil, spreading with your finger if necessary. The thick gel will not bleed under the edges of your stencil. Picture 1 shows the fabric covered with the "stencil". Picture 2 reveals the "bleached" out pattern left by the stencil. NOTE: "Soft Scrub with Bleach" works great with stencils because of it's extremely thick consistency. FINISHING Rinse your fabric or garment in a solution of 1 part vinegar and 3 parts water. This will help diffuse the bleaching action and reset the dye.
