Candy Corn Buttons (optional)
 | Construction: Cut
strips for candy corn: Sew strips in a 1/4” seam, press seams open. Using the template, cut 5 candy corn pieces from strip pieced unit. From black cotton, cut 6 pieces using the same template. Sew black template pieces to the candy corn. ‘Square up’ the unit by trimming off the angled edge on the ends. Cut 2 black strips 16” x 2¼”. Sew to top and bottom of candy corn unit. Cut a yellow strip 12¼” x 1¾” Stamp HAPPY HALLOWEEN! in the center (or use pre-stamped fabric). Cut strips of orange 1” wide. Sew a border around all edges of the stamped strip. Sew a 2¼” x 2½” of black to each end of the unit. |

Sew Happy Halloween to candy corn unit.
Sew a 16½” x 1¾” strip of black to top of quilt above Happy Halloween.
Cut strips of white cotton 1½” wide. Stamp with spiders (or use pre-stamped fabric). Sew around quilt to create a border.
Layer quilt over batting and backing. Machine quilt in the black fabric areas. Complete quilt with a ½” black binding.
Optional: Sew candy corn buttons on quilt. |
